As above bought an aeris frame from eBay that had the 160 link included but the seller decided to remove it and fit original link then sell the 160 link on

Bird will sell you the link, and I’d be opening a PayPal dispute to recover some cash from the seller to pay for it.

I am talking to the seller now if they do not agree to send money I will have to open a dispute

Ping them an email – they’ve quite often got stock on the shelf that hasn’t been added to the website yet.

Is the frame a black one? If so, I think I know the seller through Bird owners page on fb. He was trying to sell the complete bike at first, then frame with BOTH linkages. I offered to buy the LT linkage if he wanted to sell it separately and make the 145 a 145 again. He initially refused, and I managed to get a random one that appeared on Bird site. A month or so later, he’s still not sold frame, but is indeed selling the LT linkage separately! Think he did sell it, was advertised on fb I think. Bit naughty if he said it was an LT when he sold it to you though… Defo be worth disputing, should ask for 90 quid refund to purchase a new linkage from Bird. Not sure if they have stock though??

The Ebay advert appears to state the 160 link was only included with the buy-it-now option, unless its the wrong advert?

The bike was advertised as 160 travel and should have been sold as such

A price was agreed for the the frame as the buy it now price included other parts like dropper and cranks.

He made no mention of removing suspension hardware. The bit about the 160 link was added after price was agreed and money sent via PayPal

Try messaging or calling Clark at Bennachie Bike Bothy, as he’s a Bird dealer and it’s the sort of thing he might have lying around.

No luck with the bike bothy, seems to be they are like hens teeth

Bird also got back to me saying the machine shop that manufactures the links has shut (understandably) and no stock so I’m out of luck

Yeah they’re really hard to get hold off.

My advice would be to try the 145 linkage, it’s how the bike was first designed and whilst less travel might sound like less bike, supposedly it’s the other way around, the 145 linkage is the racier, more agro open. I’m pretty sure the 160 linkage was made to tame them a bit (and because the market says a Enduro bike should be at least 160mm travel).
