Do it. I design them as part of my day job. I’m afraid expenses might just about cover the frame if you are lucky.
I’ve always figured that as someone at an early career stage in medical research, that I should probably be on the receiving end of it at some point anyway. For science and all that.
The one I’ve looked at will give me a grand left over after the frame. That’s the wheels and most of the fork covered. Then it would just be the drivetrain and finishing kit, I’d save a bit by going 1*10 instead.
Got an interview coming up with a well respected financial firm as well, so I might be tempted to ditch the science career for the time being until I decide I can be bothered with a PhD. Maybe I will be able to afford the bike without having to give myself an infectious disease for science! 🙂
Fingers crossed, I just printed out a photo of the bike and pinned it above my computer to help keep me focused on interview practice/revision. 🙂
