    Those are the first wooden bikes I’ve ever thought looked half nice. That hard tail is amazing looking

    Looks like a very precise construction, but the sharp edged aesthetic would appear to create lots of stress risers.

    I’d have to disagree nickc, the road bike I think is very pretty. The hardtail, I don’t know why but it really isn’t, I think maybe it’s the slight curvature of the top tube, possibly the way the headtube sits on the fork, or the drunken bend in the seat tube but something just makes it look wrong to me.

    Also, they missed a trick not putting a timber bell on them.

    His website shows his own impact and fatigue test rigs with loadcells etc, and they are also tested independently (presumably at UTAC in France or EFBE in Germany). So I don’t think stress raisers are a concern.

    Yeah, my favourite is the road bike – a really nice looking bike – some great skill to make those shapes in wood!
