Berghaus Fit

Anyone got a Berghaus jacket – do they come up large or small? North Face L always fits me – am kind of between sizes on the Berghaus chart.

Size about the same as TNF ime

From the couple of Berghaus stuff that I have worn it appears that they come up more on the large side rather than small.

I always find both TNF and berghaus for tiny framed Diddy men. They always come up small. For real size men i prefer Craghoppers. And if buy direct they ain’t too pricey.

It depends on the jacket. I have an old large one that is on the big side for me and a new Large Velum (it is described as close fitting) that I wouldn’t want any smaller. Short answer…It depends on the cut. 5’10” and about 41″ chest if that helps.

Just gone from a TNF 3in1 to a new Berghaus Goretex 3in1, both size Large.
The Berg is a slightly smaller/less roomy fit.

It varies massively depending on the style. They did a whole range of über technical stuff which was developed with Leo Houlding and was incredibly tapered and close fitting – stuff like the Asgard Smock and the Vellum. On the other hand, their more general kit tends to be cut more generously, not quite as boxy as TNF, but not tight at all and their latest technical jackets aren’t as tight as the whole Asgard range, mostly because most typical Berghaus customers couldn’t get it on… which jacket are you looking at?

What does FTFY mean? i ain’t that fat, 6’5″ 120kilos. Ain’t bad for my age.

Berghaus is half a size down for me, i am XL in TNF but a XXL in berghaus is slightly too big for me …..berghaus i feel is slightly small fit but not as small as mountain equipment which is tiny ….also be aware of different brackets in the berghaus range like lifestyle and active fit

On a related note does anyone know if the Berghaus Gore Active Shell the same Gore Active Shell Gore Bikw Wear use in their mega-dear jackets?

I have a Mount Asgard Smock Large and I am a skinny lanky 6 foot 2 at 70kg 11 stone and it fits me well. The arms are a good length and the body is not too baggy. But this is a climbing jacket where arm articulation is important.

On a related note does anyone know if the Berghaus Gore Active Shell the same Gore Active Shell Gore Bikw Wear use in their mega-dear jackets?

As far as I know yes. When I was looking at the jackets I discused the Velum (Active shell) with some guys in the shop who used it biking and they said it was very breathable. They described it like wind proof top in terms of breathability.
