I’ve got an FSA BB92 bottom bracket in a bike and I’m trying to fit a Shimano Hollowtech crankset, 24mm spindle same as the FSA that came out of there… but the Shimano crank spindle seems to be too wide/long for the BB92 that’s in there. Even overdoing the preload on the NDS crank arm they slide about.

Does anyone know if there are any sort of adapters you can get to resolve this? I’ve tried googling to no avail! Or do I need to replace the BB with a Shimano? Although I’ve read the FSA is supposed to be fully compatible with Shimano!

    Thanks.

How wide is your BB shell? Road are 86mm and MTB can be 89.5 or 92mm. Perhaps need a 2.5mm spacer on the drive side.
Some Shimano PF BBs use a spacer that fits between the cup and the shell (like threaded BBs do) and some use a spacer between cup and chainset which would be more practical in your situation – all assuming yours is 89.5mm.
