banana soreen wtf? i want non of that!
One thing that is bugging me about soreen is that the packaging doesnt say what weight the loaf is? its about the only product in my cupboards that doesnt do this and it bugs me!
so i'll stick with my 28p asda malt loaf.
I had some a while back, but I think the traditional version is much nicer ๐
Im with the OP, the banana loaf is pure awesomesauce.
Gah. I miss soreen. Anyone fancy sticking one in the post to Ethiopia?
:o)
Ooops! Double post. Curse the awful Ethiopian internet.

I just ate another loaf of Soreen. I eat far too much of the stuff, but out of curiosity I wanted to know how much protein each loaf contains. Looking at the Nutritional Information table above I can see it contains 7.3 grams of protein per 100 grams, and 2.1 grams per 1/8th of a loaf. Thatโs fine, but nowhere on the packaging is the weight of the loaf stated. How, then, are you supposed to work out how much protein you just ate if you donโt know how much Soreen you just ate?After the brief annoyance and uncertainty over the legality of this crucial omission, I wrote out an algebraic equation on an old envelope and worked out the supposed weight of the malt loaf.
Where p = protein weight and W = total weight
p = (7.3/100)xW
p= (8 x 2.1)(8 x 2.1) = (7.3/100)xW
W = (8 x 2.1) / (7.3/100) = 16.8 / 0.073 = 230.14g
So! Each loaf contains (7.3/100) x 230.14 = 16.8g of protein. They could have just printed that on the label, the bastardsโฆ

+1, not that the banana stuff is unpleasant, just the original is better.. IIRC they tried a couple of new products/flavours, I still prefer the original..

^^this, trying the banana one was diappointing and anti-climactic. Now I know how my wife feels.

Haha headfirst! banana in malt loaf works a treat. It's a great combo. Get your squashed malt loaf and squashed banana out of back pack, kneed it flat and wrap it around the banana. Chow down.
Love Soreen, used it to keep me going on recent 36 miler and worked a treat mmm
smear it with Nutella for a special treat.
Might even be relevant to headfirst's problem as well.
mmm nutella ๐

for a proper banana loaf

I could eat an awful lot of that in a day .
the only issue with banana soreen is the fact it makes you poo chimps fingers, all long, fibrous and with knuckles ๐ฏ

Highly sought after in the chinese medicine trade - you are quite literally sitting on a gold mine.
Another Yes vote here for banana soreen malt loaf. I must add though - it must be toasted and buttered 1st.
