I’m thinking riding from Huddersfield to the east coast this summer and looking at this as a reduced traffic option. I’ve looked at it on the map and whilst it does go round the houses a bit I kind of like the idea of just following the sign posts instead of having to navigate. I’ll either be riding my roubaix or hardtail with slicks, most likely starting from Dunford bridge.

I haven’t, but having ridden other parts of the TPT (manc – southport) I really wouldn’t be wanting to rely on the signs as my only means of navigation.

    +1 for SB.

I did the N-S portion last weekend, and the signs were variable to say the least.

We had a bar mounted GPS and would have struggled without it.

    Nice traffic-free riding though.

I tried riding Westward to Hornsea once. It was very wet.
