K used to carry a Gerber (wave?) but it was a big heavy thing given we only ever used the pliers so now lives in the bike toolkit in the car.
Pliers get used for undoing the valve nut and freeing gummed up presta valves so I revoke the smallest lightest set of folding pliers with the minimum of useless other tools attached.
Looking at this thread as an interesting piece of market research it looks like there’s a gap in the market for an all in one bike multitool which includes: decent mini pliers; a chain tool; all the usual screwdrivers hex & torx keys; and perhaps some tyre levers a chain hook amongst other things.
Someone who knows what they’re doing get onto Kick Starter straight away!
For anything with flat edges – bolts, glands etc, the pliers wrench are unbeatable – they dont move from their adjusted position and the jaws stay parallel. I’ve got 125mm up to 350 (or 400?)

Agreed. My lad wants a multi tool for his birthday and as well as a knife and tweezers he wants pliers and Allen keys.
