Scout is definitely worth a look if you can live with a properly stuff alu hardtail (I can't, for this sort of thing, I hate the way the rear wheel kicks and skips). But it rides really nicely otherwise ad that's a matter of taste.

Designed for six fiddys but apparently 29er wheels will fit with a 120mm fork. It's peaked my interest at the moment, just waiting for it to be released to hear more details.

Stanton Switch9er in steel isn't far off (assuming you don't want to splurge on the Ti version).

Owned a sherpa and couldn't tell the difference between the two. Mk1 solaris was quite bendy, if its built to pass CEN testing, its going to be pretty stiff. Something custom built (e.g. curtis) with nice skinny tubes....

I see that now I've looked. There doesn't seem to be much emphasis on their website on the fast forward frame, maybe they're letting in run out.

Yeah, V1 had to go back to them to be repainted, had the clearcoat initially but it rusted underneath. Came back beautifully finished in black,

I'd have preferred if they bi the bulet and did a boost rear end, but that said the odd offset setup hasn't been an issue for me.

It's not been a problem for me either, but Ive not that compared to my other boost bike, the chain line for the big sprockets is worse, like the hub isn't off set enough.

I'd rather not have the faff of the sliding drop outs either if I'm honest.

Which has very similar geometry, and a wishbone for better clearance around the Bb, and regular dropouts.

Jesus those poles are long even compared t9 my moxie! But there seat tubes are all still long. So not in the same vain I recon as the moxies is 17inchs on both sizes so is real low down. Plus it looks much better

Zezaskar. Well it all relative my main bike has a reach of 555. Maybe if the moxie came in a xl it would be more my size.

I've always seen their sizing as long=medium and longer=large, so yep, they lack a xl

Amazed to see no-one mentioning the new Solaris! I think Cotic continuing to quote their geometry sagged rather than static hides how aggressive the geometry now is. So, I’ve worked out the static geometry of a large SolarisMAX with 140mm forks:

Head Angle: 63.9 deg

Seat Angle: 71.9 deg

Wheelbase: 1240mm

Reach: 464mm

Stack: 627mm

BB drop: 44mm

Seat tube: 460mm

It isn’t crazy long or low but it is very slack for a 29er! Short seat tube so you can size up unless you want to run a huge dropper post.

The biggest problem with these new crop of aggressive hardtails is that they're gateway drugs to equivalent FS.

Had my Moxie for 4 months, completely fell in love with the geometry but was reaching the limits (for me) with a HT. Got the closest thing to it I could afford, a Bird Aeris AM9. Would love a Pole or a Nicolai, but can't justify the price tag.
