Looking to build something up that is a bit n the aggressive side slack and Burly,
A btr would be great but a bit to pricey but it's that kind of thing. Kicking the dh runs in the woods etc
But looking for a few frame options
Sick Bikes?
Nukeproof Scout 275 / Scout 290 would get my vote. Really good fun to ride.
Last fastforward.
Pipedream moxie.
Production privee gt
btr ranger
sick
To name a few more.
Scout is definitely worth a look if you can live with a properly stuff alu hardtail (I can't, for this sort of thing, I hate the way the rear wheel kicks and skips). But it rides really nicely otherwise ad that's a matter of taste.
I'm very fond of my Last FF,
Transition Vanquish
I'd love a vanquish, but not at that price.
What price is the Last FF frame cant see it on their site?
From memory they came out about £500 for the last fastforward,
but they don’t seem to have any in stock or the sites not working.
Identiti AKA?
Designed for six fiddys but apparently 29er wheels will fit with a 120mm fork. It's peaked my interest at the moment, just waiting for it to be released to hear more details.
Kona Honzo gotta be on the list?
Kingdom Vendetta X2
Last FF. I absolutley love mine.
Orange p7 29er? My 650b is ace.
Last Fast Forward is nice.
Last FF hasn't been available in anything other than XL for over 6 months. I gave up asking for an ETA on the next shipment and moved on.
Have you looked at Marino? They seem to have been doing a lot of DH hardtails recently.
Pipedream Moxie, Pipedream Moxie or even a Pipedream Moxie
Pipedream Moxie, Pipedream Moxie or even a Pipedream Moxie
ive been waiting for mine for a month now (waiting for stock of dvo forks) and cannot wait to get a first ride on it.
Stanton Switch9er in steel isn't far off (assuming you don't want to splurge on the Ti version).

Owned a sherpa and couldn't tell the difference between the two. Mk1 solaris was quite bendy, if its built to pass CEN testing, its going to be pretty stiff. Something custom built (e.g. curtis) with nice skinny tubes....
Squealer there’s a Pipedream owners club on Facebook if you’ve not already found it! Where all on there with are moxies
That Identiti looks very interesting. Is there any more info on it anywhere around its ability to take 29er wheels?

I see that now I've looked. There doesn't seem to be much emphasis on their website on the fast forward frame, maybe they're letting in run out.
I know they had problems with the finishing on the V2 frames and they ended up only releasing the black ones in the end.I have a V2 black one and Whilst everything works fine, I'm not convinced the the whole boost not boost offset is right.

I don't know how a HT could be better than a Moxie.
Saw a couple of fellas riding Orbea Laufeys a few weeks ago, looked like nice bikes - 27.5+ or 29... top of the range is £2300
Have been looking at the moxie but it's a bit short. So now looking at the pole Taival. Bit longer and slacker
NS do some lovely hardtails. Alu and steel 130-150mm travel

Yeah, V1 had to go back to them to be repainted, had the clearcoat initially but it rusted underneath. Came back beautifully finished in black,
I'd have preferred if they bi the bulet and did a boost rear end, but that said the odd offset setup hasn't been an issue for me.
Pace RC129?
It's not been a problem for me either, but Ive not that compared to my other boost bike, the chain line for the big sprockets is worse, like the hub isn't off set enough.
I'd rather not have the faff of the sliding drop outs either if I'm honest.
Still,
Stanton Switch9er in steel isn’t far off
Which has very similar geometry, and a wishbone for better clearance around the Bb, and regular dropouts.

Thankyou Batman! Just joined.
Blakec, I think it's the first time I hear someone calling the Moxie short. 510mm reach on a Longer size
Jesus those poles are long even compared t9 my moxie! But there seat tubes are all still long. So not in the same vain I recon as the moxies is 17inchs on both sizes so is real low down. Plus it looks much better
Zezaskar. Well it all relative my main bike has a reach of 555. Maybe if the moxie came in a xl it would be more my size.
Blakec, fair enough.
I've always seen their sizing as long=medium and longer=large, so yep, they lack a xl
Amazed to see no-one mentioning the new Solaris! I think Cotic continuing to quote their geometry sagged rather than static hides how aggressive the geometry now is. So, I’ve worked out the static geometry of a large SolarisMAX with 140mm forks:
Head Angle: 63.9 deg
Seat Angle: 71.9 deg
Wheelbase: 1240mm
Reach: 464mm
Stack: 627mm
BB drop: 44mm
Seat tube: 460mm
It isn’t crazy long or low but it is very slack for a 29er! Short seat tube so you can size up unless you want to run a huge dropper post.
The biggest problem with these new crop of aggressive hardtails is that they're gateway drugs to equivalent FS.
Had my Moxie for 4 months, completely fell in love with the geometry but was reaching the limits (for me) with a HT. Got the closest thing to it I could afford, a Bird Aeris AM9. Would love a Pole or a Nicolai, but can't justify the price tag.
Had my first ride today, I'm in heaven
Yep. There's at least two Geometron owners on this thread. My old FS rapidly felt too shory
