[Closed] Adhesive / Glue Recommendations
Need to attach a small stone house number plate onto a brick wall. Any recommendations on glue or grab adhesive to use as here are no screw holes? Thanks
Gorilla glue
Gripfill. Couple of quid, job done
Jointer's Mate - like Gorilla Glue but cheaper. It foams up to fill any gaps.
evostick sticks like shit will do it but so will gripfill . no need for anything special.
Gripfill +1
Gripfill, ordinary external-use silicone sealant will do as well, if a nice thick 'gasket' is put all round the edge and across the plate. Might need some duct tape to hold it in place for 24 hours while it cures, but you'll need to do that anyway, regardless of what you use to stick it to the wall - gravity is not your friend.

If using silicone sealant(not an adhesive) you will but gripfill or sticks like shit won't. Look at YouTube for examples of the instant adhesive properties of them.

The trouble with the foaming is it'll push the plate you're fixing away from the wall as it sets. Its great stuff for lots of applications but only really useful in situations where you can clamp stuff together. Once opened the glue goes off pretty quickly too so pretty wasteful if you're not using it a lot.
Gripfill and Sticks like Shit are pretty much made for this. Read the instructions as in some instances you can used them a bit like contact adhesive - coat both bits, let them set a bit then at the right moment stick them together. Some of these gap filling glues benefit from a mist of water for quicker setting too.
Other options might be toffee tape or butyl strip for a more instant stick - depends on how sound the surface you are sticking to is though.
Masonry drill and Rawlplugs?
