    Excellent work so far, everyone!

Good to see some Twotter love, too! Needs some Islander in the thread for me, though!
CFH Senior flew this one a lot.

    And, of course, a JP.

Ben, re your “found pictures”, if you’ve any interest, I may well be able to help track down the people in them.

Mig-15 did give the yanks a fright, until they upped the number of F-86s in Korea and then they started shooting them down left, right and centre!

Sure – I did briefly try a few years ago, but didn’t really know where to ask.

I built one of those kits – it died a brave and valiant death shortly after I tried putting a home-made rocket engine in it.

PJM, that sort of thing shouldn’t really be shown before the watershed! Filthy, filthy, filthy!

    Mmmmmm……but nice!

Ben, any chance you could post a few more of them on here so that I can send them to someone without a link to your Flickr account? Will then ask around for you. Just conscious of the “exploring somewhere I shouldn’t” element!

Saw these in action at Holbeach Ranges in Norfolk, sounded like a great big fart!

And thanks for the pictures of the Chipmunk: I must have been one of the only Aircadets that didn’t like flying 😮

Oh, don’t worry about that – it wasn’t anywhere military, it was the Balfour Kilpatrick site in Renfrew, which has been demolished now anyway:

Actually, it’s not an SR-71, it’s a Lockheed A-12 Oxcart, the CIA-operated precursor to the SR-71. It was much more secret. Generally the A-12s were painted black but some of the initial ones flew unpainted, getting to show off all their titanium body panels.

Also the third jet in my post is a Hawker Sea Hawk, a sort-of evolution of the aforementioned Sea Fury.

The sleek single prop seaplane is a (the?) Supermarine SB-6.

It’s not big, by any standards, but it’s brilliant as you can go in pretty much all of the aircraft, including the Sea Vixen 😀

10 AEF… woodvale, 11 years old and got my first class cadet badge the day before… old RAF boy in the chipmunk doing aerobatics over the sea….. and then a harrier came in to visit. It was at the time by far the best day of my life (even if my uniform was too big!). I see that beluga take off from my desk a lot… it still looks a little bonkers.
