I picked up the Fargo today, it looks really nice in the flesh.

I’ve got a pair of wheels from my cross bike I’m going to use temporarily.

I’ve got a pair of Hope XC hubs, I’d like to build up into true 29er wheels

CRC have some Mavic tn317 rims on sale at £28. How will they fare on a Fargo?

Are there any other rims I should consider?

alesa sputnik from Spa cycles are a tougher and cheaper rim.
    take a 2.2 tyre also.

I’ve run one on the back of my Niner for a year or so. It’s only fractionally heavier than the TN719. Been bumped & crashed around Cannock a lot with no problems. About to get another for the front so I can have a spare set of wheels. I run 2.4 Racing Ralph’s on them at 26psi. Best thing is that tyres go on easily.

Be good to see pics of your Fargo when it’s built up…

Ton, I’ve gotten along well with Mavic rims in the past, so think I will stick with them.

    Takisawa2 I think I will give them a try.

I’ll post up some pics when it’s complete. I started off with the best intentions of building it tonight, got the headset fitted and tried the wheels to check the stand over height, but it’s -5 here, it’s snowing and the lure of the stove was too great. I toyed with bringing the work stand in beside it 👿

I had A117 Mavic 700c rims on my Cotic and the rums took 2 years of commuting, kerbs and kid trailers.
