    Hi

I want to use modern 160mm Shimano SLX calipers with 165mm old style Hope discs.

Has anybody done this type of mod before and if so how did you sort out the caliper spacing to allow for the larger disc

    Cheers for any assistance

Assuming the new SLX are post mount calipers and are using IS>post mount adaptors, you can just use washers to lift the caliper a few mm further out from the adaptor. I’ve done this with Avid calipers and Hope floating rotors.

I was hoping it would be as simple as that.

Im running 180mm caliper with a 185mm disc with no issues. Just make sure the outer edge of the disc isn’t hitting the caliper!

2.5mm of washers should do it. I’m running a saint 203mm caliper on a hope 205mm disc and it works OK
