Do you recon it would be mad to attempt the 100 miles on a ss mtb?

I did the Selkirk Merida on a singlespeed. That was really daft so why not?

People do >100 miles at 24hr solo races on SS and I’ve seen quite a few people at Merida’s on SS, that’s 50-70 miles.

SDW has been done on one both ways in under 24 hours. Rigid 29er I believe.

It’s the only way to go…

Gears and suspension are for old frail people 🙂

Go for it. Might be worth selecting a slightly easier gear than you’re normally used to if you’ve got any doubts. It’ll feel silly at the start but you’ll be grateful once you get near the end.

I did 47 miles on my ss cross bike the other day in the peaks, only 5 miles were on road. So yeh, easily “doable” i’d say

As it seems comfortably far away at the moment, I could be interested in having a go on the s/s, if the diary’s free. Anyone else up for it (apart from skankin_giant)?
