    only if it’s a road mech,I think

    mtb mechs have different response to cable pull between 9&10

    Edit – cassette spacing is also different

    SRAM 9spd shifters can be modded to drive a 10spd shimano mech on 9 spd cassettes

    Ok, got the answer. Just replacing the shimano rear mech on my daughters 9spd. Was wondering if the 10spd mechs would work as they are cheaper for the same quality.
    Answer is no.
