I made a vid of the xc series race at Pembrey yesterday, uploaded it, got an email to say it was live, tried to share it on facebook but apparently the video is unavailable for people who tried to watch it.

I've signed out of my account, and followed the link I shared and it worked fine for me.

Can a couple of people see if they can watch the video? Link below:

Link[/url]

If it doesnt work - does anyone have any idea why not?

I used a copyrighted song, which youtube monetise to allow you to use it, so I'm not sure if that is an issue.

Cheers.

They are convinced they can't see the video, or even find it in listings. When I search on youtube for 'Pembrey xc 2016' it comes up and is viewable, but apparently its not even in search listings. Is there a reason why some people can see it and others can't?

^^ embeds ok too. I wonder if it's something around the 'clickable' bit of the link getting truncated perhaps, maybe suggest them copying & pasting the URL rather than clicking the link? Or tinyurl it even.

And it played fine? Very strange. I'm going to hazard a guess that it may be due to some devices having issues with the little ad bars that get put along the youtube video when you use a copyrighted song - does this sound likely?

Jambalaya - it works fine on my fb. I'll re-post on fb using a tinyurl later and see if that makes a differnece

Works fine embeded but opening the link it doesn't. I'm on my iPad when it opens the link it uses the app and then it doesn't work. It's not Facebook or the ads.

Does it make any difference if you use http:// instead of https:// ?

Does the iPad choke on Flash video and require HTML5, or vice versa?

I'll test on my MacBook later when my daughter brings it back from her trip away.

Android tablet.

Not available if I open the link through the YouTube app. Also not available if I open it in Chrome, unless I switch to the desktop version of the YouTube page then it plays fine.

Not sure if that gives anyone any clues about what's going on? Bit of quick googling suggests copyright issues on the music...

I'm going to guess it's only mobile devices that it is not visible on. I have had this with some videos when the music is copyright protected, listening to the song you have chosen, I would bet this is the reason.

i think thats probably it, shame but i guess it's good they now let you use copywrihted music (in return for ads on the vid) anyway so not being availbe on all devices isnt the worst
