Just opened YouTube so my daughter could watch Fireman Sam.

Front page video was a chainsaw prank. Full shot of a man disembowelled and dismembered. Excuse my French but it's ****in obscene to have that sort of material on full display to anyone. I suspect many adults would be disturbed by the image let alone children.

Surely there must be a way to complain?

What I see on the front page is related to what I have watched on YouTube. Stop watching chainsaw dismembering instruction videos and your problem will go away...

I'm still fuming. What's to someone posting a child porn scene or an IS beheading?

Fireman Sam videos? Aren't they covered by copyright and so shouldn't be on YouTube anyway?

Same thing on youtube front page at my school today - some of the 11yr olds had already seen it - I had to 'redirect' them !?

OP, you have to flag the video. It's under the more link, under the video.

I always get the same moronic rubbish every time I go to YouTube. If it was based on what I watch it would be Fireman Sam, peppy pig, Chris Akrigg and Uktimate Handy Man.
You tube never seems to log what I watch.

The report link does nothing on my MacBook. I'm guessing I have to login before I can do anything. But then my 3 year old has access to my emails.

Cut it out, it is childish to keep ripping it out of the op.

Me too - except at the top is the Chainsaw Massacre "prank". Oh, haha.
It's even there if I turn on Private Browsing so it's not related to my history (I tend not to watch snuff movies anyway).

I imagine it's because it was posted 1 day ago and has over 6.6M hits already (so it's considered by the Youtube "robot' to be popular and so everyone will want to see it, right?).

Anyway, I agree with the OP. It shouldn't be there.

Create a Google account for your kids, then separate logins on the computers.

Mine have their own gmail accounts so they can have their own accounts on the tablet. They don't have any credit card information, and my account (that does) is password protected.

I believe googles terms and conditions disallow those who are under 13 registering for accounts...as do Facebook/twitter et al.

Youtage has a front page? I just search ftom Google or YouTube app on phone. Honestly never seen anything other than what I'm watching.

Following recommend on the right can lead to some dark and strange places though.

You let a 3 year old have unsupervised access to your computer?
And moan about adults playing with chainsaws 🙄 🙂

I agree it probably shouldn't be on the front page but if you must resort to plonking her in front of fireman Sam videos on YouTube (had to resort to doing similar before myself) at least do a google video search for fireman Sam or whatever you want to watch as +1 for never seeing the YouTube front page

Definitely one for the more mature audience... Should have an age restriction on it
