To get the best out of Yorkshire tea it needs to be mashed with Yorkshire water. Thats why if you don't live in Yorkshire you won't get the full appreciation of it superior flavour.

Twinings English breakfast tea is expensive turd. The tea from Aldi uh a quarter if the price, much nicer and apparently award winning

Anything that's fairly traded.

Rich probably had it with Clipper...

...but right now I'm into Earl Grey 🙂

Fairly traded or ethically sourced? The latter may possible be the better option according to some sources.

Look for "Ethical Tea Partnership", better standards than Fair Trade but doesn't have the same "brand" recognition

Fair enough. I didn't know that, I just heard that a lot of the major brands were not paying anything like a fair price to their pickers.

For me, it's:

Twinings Everyday
Sainsburys Red Label
Lidl Gold box tea...

No particular order.

We've got some loose leaf tea that we bought when on honeymoon in Sri Lanka. It's delicious, but we don't often bother 'making a pot'...

You will find Ringtons tea in Waitrose, but it won't be labelled as Ringtons. It'll be labelled as Waitrose. Same goes for another major supermarket, a clothes and food retailer, and an upmarket grocer to the Queen.

Interesting.

Yup the vans are great ours is due this week.

On behalf of this thread I tried a range of Twinings teas today. Strong breakfast was good, Darjeeling without milk was nice but with milk was too light, English Afternoon was good, Everyday was average. And then I had a sneaky high mountain oolong from Taiwan, that was lovely.

Gold without a doubt best off the supermarket shelf tea that exists, lovely, strong, smooth cuppa, with a great caffeine high.

Standard Yorkshire Tea and Lancy Tea on par with each other from a taste perspective, both lovely, but Lancy tea has the edge for strength, stuff takes your head off 😯 😆 I heard a rumour they were competing with Yorkie tea and the produect managers decided to make it strong as hell. Its on par with some coffees I find, eyeballs sitting on stalks after a cup 😯

Aldi green tea lovely for mornings when fasting.
