hi all,
there is probably any easy answer to this but easy answers never come easy to me so...
I have a playlist of songs on my iPod.. I want to keep that but delete the songs from the general library so they don't come up on random play.
I've tried "deselecting" the songs from iTunes when I sync but by doing that it also deselects the playlist.
thanks for any tips.
You need another play list with all the songs except the ones in the other play list and use that.
are there no limits on size of playlist then?

I've never thought about it, but I don't think so.
To allow my ipod to work on my ICE in car system I created a playlist containing all of my songs, that's 4000+. Seems to work OK.
thanks samuri.. that seems to confirm it.... I'll just have to create one mahoosive playlist.
You won't be able to acheive what you have asked for though.
Random play of your "library" is just that. Songs from your "library"
shuffled.
A playlist is also a selection of songs from your library.
The only way to exclude songs from your library is to remove them from your iPod and thus removing from the playlist.
but I can random play the playlist no? .. and the playlist as suggested above would be all songs duplicated from the library minus those offending songs ( I don't have my iPod with me just at the 'mo )
but I can random play the playlist..?
Yep

There is another way:
Click on songs, right click (or alt/apple i): Get Info: Options Tab: Select Skip when shuffling
Does what it says on the box.
HTH,
