We will be in touch
I tried to get onto Xbox live last night but couldn't as my X box doesn't have enough memory for an update. I have an old core system so no HD. I've seen you can use USB memory sticks to download content onto but there's no mention about software updates. Anyone in a similar predicament or am I going to have to get a hard drive?
No actual experience but I believe MS have recently released an update to allow this. The USB stick gets treated like any memory device once you've made it compatible.
An 8G stick will cost you less than a tenner, worth a try if you ask me.
One of my friends is using this on his core console because of the issue you've got.
Worth trying Samuri's idea 1st as it'll be cheaper, but if that fails....
you need to use a half decent usb stick (sandisk ones work) as the xbox is finickety about the sticks performance.
stuck a 16gb one in mine last nigt - works perfectly
I've just realised there is a possible issue with my suggestion.
You need to get one of the latest updates to allow you to use USB sticks, but you can't get an update because you have no memory.
Way to go Microsoft!
good point
if the update doesnt fit on the standard memory module
then the doodah that hp source said is a good plan
Cheers guys, I'll have to look into it.
when i bought my xbox core a few weeks back, i got offered a 20gb HDD from a friend who had upgraded to a 250GB HDD almost straight away.
a 20gb HDD should be EASY to find for free.
and setting it up was a synch too.
