While we're on the subject, MS are about to retire the Points system. As of the next desktop update, all your existing points will be converted to ££ at full resale price (so if, for example, you were to buy a 4200 points code from Electronic First, you'd get ten quid for free).

Why are they getting rid of points? Just having £ instead? Makes sense I guess... Like beer tokens- an uneccesary step in the process!

Dunno, this is word-of-mouth information. Presumably to stop third parties like Electronic First undercutting RRP by ten quid.
