I don't get it; at 1:38 he seems to skip about 80% of the game...

Other than some sort of video game, I have no idea what thus is.

It's a bit like watching citizen kane on fast forward, that. The strava of video games.

Got it sat on my steam account, might need to make a wee return trip to midgar. Not sure I have the stamina to breed a golden chobobo tho.

PS, nobody else agrees that this is the best bit. But it totally is

PPS, most modern video game fans will never play this game. This is just fundamentally wrong. You wouldn't ignore the mona lisa just because it's not in HD.

PPPS,

The best (or at least the most memorable) bit of FF7 is quite clearly this bit:

@RF90: thanks for the pointer on the Yuffie glitch. I might have to give it a try...

They should re-create FF 7-8-9 for ps4 ..same character, kinda same story line but lots of subplot ..lots of chocobo to play with. And same soundtracks. These are classics of RPG that im sad my kid and all other kids didn't get a chance to play

If they removed all the random battles FF7 would be a decent game.

Is that a 2 hr plus film of a game?

Think I'm about to buy it for the pc, off Steam I suppose.

Last go was about 4 years ago when I'll went through 7, 8 & 9 on the PS1.

The card game in FF8, nearly lost all touch with reality over that.

See, I love the stuff that only works if you've done certain things. Like, the midgar zolom only works best if it already kicked your arse, which is totally avoidable- iirc an npc tells you not to try and walk through there. But if you've tried to fight it, you got your arse totally kicked, and now you know sephiroth isn't just 'kin hard- he's about a million times harder than you can deal with.

Sort of like Odin vs Seifer in ff8- that was just ridiculously cool but not every player would even have got Odin in the first place, let alone used him on seifer.

Fair point, Northwind. You're right, it does work better as you describe.

There's an NPC in the town of Kalm (i think) who advises you to get a Chocobo to cross the marshland in which the Zolm lives. Actually, there's a brilliant enemy-skill to be learned from it.

Geek overload. Amazing.

Right now I'm YouTubing the FF8 cutscenes... The train!

Edit: there must be a market by now for all those natty demo disks you used to throw out of bus windows.

The only bit of FF7 I could never be arsed doing was defeating Ruby Weapon in the sand outside the gold casino thingy. Haven't played it since I sold my PS1 in 2000 to fund purchase of a PS2.

<buggers off to ebay muttering "PS1 consoles can't be that expensive">

You can download it on Steam, if that helps? I imagine a PS1 and FF7 will cost more than £10...

So who else gave in? Just met the "flower girl". I was so tempted to have Cloud be a cock this time but I think he's going to be sound.

I thought about it, but i played it through a few months ago. A little too soon for me!

Enjoy! But remember; you probably have 'real life' things to achieve too!

Took a while but it got here eventually.

Original Playstation with FFVII and Resident Evil 2 for £25. Just got to avalanche HQ. I get a feeling this may take some time. 😀
