Tin of tuna in my cupboard has a best before date of Dec 2006.

Should I or should I not have it for my tea?

Oh bollox - now I feel bad 🙁

No, there's no way I would eat tuna that's more than 2 years out of date.

If it's tinned (and the can isn't punctured), it should be fine. That's why it's "Best Before" and not "Use By".

No - I just had to throw away some pasta sauce from Waitrose cos the seal was broken and order in a curry instead

Open it and if it smells ok, try a tiny bit - if it tastes ok then eat it. How on earth did people survive before we had best before dates eh? 😉
