This guy has dozens and dozens of these 'comedy' videos on youtube - it's really quite hard to see what he is aiming for in terms of trying to be funny -but he covers up well by being fat, having a really loud voice and doing lots of dancing and groin thrusting. 😕

Stock cynical party-pooper response from you DezB. 😆

I dunno - for me there's something strangely fascinating about the guy. I think I just like his sexy dancing - sometimes he takes his top off too.

Christ, he's almost so bad it's funny. Utterly utterly useless.
Thank you very much.

went to the comedy store in hollywood once - were six people in the "crowd" (4 of us english so we weren't properly in on some of the jokes)

the 2 acts weren't bad but it wasn't a very pleasant experience all round

See, that wasn't so hard was it? 🙂

"I'm Kirk Douglas' son," Eric screamed in retaliation to the audience’s heckles. In response one audience member stood up and said: ‘No, I'm Kirk Douglas's son!", then another, and another until the whole audience where shouting: ‘No, I’m Kirk Douglas’s son!’.

😆

Stuart Lee - surely not? I find him a bit hit and miss but occasionally very funny - I liked the Top Gear thing

Even Jim Davidson has delivery. Fat bloke just wobbles about shouting stuff.

About as funny as finding out the painful way that there is a wasp in your undies.

The thing is with Jim Davidson, you can at least see how his jokes would appeal to cretins - this guy is just baffling, it's very hard to see what he could think was funny about what he's saying.

The fat yank is the sort of guy you want sitting next to you on a long plane/train/coach journey like you want a multiple tooth extraction session at the dentist's. I think I would kill him if I had to sit next to him for more than about 20 mins. I reckon with that video evidence I'd get off with a contributory negligence plea.

It's easy to use the existing moral zeitgeist to laugh at past comedians. For present day stuff, I really really don't like Al Murray's Pub Landlord.

Al Murray is one of my favourite stand-up comedians (I first saw him before he was famous and doing the circuits) Partly because he talks like me.......even though he went to public school and I didn't.
And partly because sexist xenophobes always make me laugh.

Al Murray is shockingly poor - I don't understand how he gets away with it tbh, he's been around ages now as well.

Al Murray is another comic, like Barry Humphries, who's become trapped by a popular alter-ego. Does anybody still find Edna Everidge funny?

Stewart Lee is amazing. Sean Lock also.

Al Murray is 'kin stealing a living. Grade A bell end. Needs locking in a room with Hugh Dennis, Alan Davis and Lenny Henry. All c*&ts

Wow - this is amazing!

It seems that different people have different tastes in humour. Unbelievabubble.
And it makes them angry too!

So basically, it's Al Murray, Ricky Gervais, Barry Humphries, Rufus Hound, and a few other comedians who are very successful and make a lot of people laugh, who are absolutely awful and aren't in the least bit funny ?

Well that makes sense I suppose.

'successful'- can this be applied to Murray and Hound? Total dicks. Do people honestly find Murray funny - he wasnt even funny as Harry Hill's side kick. Thinking about it, Hound makes my piss boil. He has that stupid 'tache and has started wearing cut off T shirts to show off his mid like crisis tattoo's. Thinks he is rock and roll.

Whats Lenny Henry done since 1989 apart from comic relief.

Being popular doesnt mean your good. Someone will be saying they like Ant and Dec next. Dumbed down comedy for the soap/celebrity watching masses.

AS for bishop - he has become caricature of himself already - slowing his sentances down in that stupid overpronounced scouse accent to highlight the punchline. We get it Bishop - its just not funny.

As for McIntyre ........

I'd have to disagree with Barry Humphries, Dame Edna is old hat now but in his prime, Barry was brilliant, not just edna but sir Les as well

I have to say that I saw Bernard Manning years ago when I was at university, I was assured he wouldn't be just a fat racist and that he was funny....the first 20 minutes of his routine was brilliant, he had great timing, funny (not offensive) jokes that I hadn't heard before and I started to appreciate why he was a big success in vegas in the late 70s.
then he comes out with 'so there's this XXXX' and quite a lot of the audience were disappointed (with the exception of the few ignoramuses at the front) and I, along with others, left

you live and learn

I went to a Dylan Moran comedy gig the other night (he was brilliant, I've seen him live before) and he had a couple of hilarious digs at Michael McIntyre.

Comedians I can't stand: Patrick Kielty and Michael McIntyre.

Pretty much every other comedian seems to hate Michael McIntyre - partly jealous of his success I suspect, though he is $%^&

Well you need to ask whether they have had successful comedy careers to answer that question 💡

Do people honestly find Murray funny

Well I said I did, and I can't for the life think of one good reason why I would lie about it ........ can you ?

Mind you, I find your ranting about comedians being "total dicks" "all c*&ts" "grade A bell end" and other stuff such as "dumbed down comedy for the masses" quite amusing, so maybe I have a different sense of humour to you - I assume you weren't trying to be funny.

........humour is such personal thing donchaknow
