Anyone doing it this year in your nearest city?
Is this about cyclists protesting showing their vulnerability on the roads or an opportunity for nudists to paint flowers and slogans on themselves and bare their arses (and more) in public?
Not that I've analysed at length or anything but, the gentlemen do appear to be taking things more literally than the ladies there.
Seems it's a thin line between "making a statement for green issues and body-positive values" and "sausagefest." I think for that reason, I'm oot.
A little vid someone filmed from today:
saw this in York today, just waiting for the bus back to the park n ride, when the police escort brought them down to clifton tower and then onto elswhere. must have been 30-40 of em, not sure what effect they have - cos no one in the bus queue understood what was happening- us included!
some people are better off keeping their clothes on ! one or two easy on the eye though.....
1.23. Wide bars. Must be a STWer...! ๐
I thought the old lady at 2:25 was going to have a stroke...
But they went by too fast to catch! (Badoom-Tish)

I guess Victoria Pendleton isn't a typical cyclist after all ๐ฅ

What tyres for riding nekkid?

Bald ones ๐
I'd probably prefer some big knobby ones
My, what a lot of wobbling!
Judging by the lack of any ability to ride in a straight line and the huge number of foot down dabbing, I'd say there weren't very many regular riders there
We did a headcount when we pulled into Cliffords Tower and came up with 78 + our police escort, who after the ride said it went well and seemed fun, dispelling their pre-conceptions. The ride was a mix of riders obviously, but we had a sizeable contingent of students from York Uni, and one from York St Johns. and of course, probably a few STW riders who aren't going to admit publicly they were on it for fear of ridicule here ๐
Did you see the guy on the cross trainer thingy? It made a loud swooshing noise in action as he went down the street. Looked fun.
There was the odd wobbly rider, and I think we lost one at the first corner setting off from the start, who wobbled and fell into the nettles and gave up. Apparently the rider hadn't ridden in a very, very long time.
I don't think we were being offensive in town, because there were groups of women (hen nights?) in cowboy outfits clutching giant pink inflatable dildos and interfering with the police in the middle of the road, waving them at everyone in sight, etc. I may have two clips of these 'gangs' of 'feral' women on my camera.
All in, I think it went down well with the public over the Jubilee weekend. And as an afterthought, I realise it gave republicans a chance to bare their arse at royalists on the street in a legal manner. But of course, within the rules.
