Just 39 days to go now, starting to get excited about all the top class football we are going to see, and some England matches.

To start the discussion off, just saw this on the BBC,

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27262726

and can't help but think that a top manager and team would look at that potential problem and try and do something about it, rather than just come out with "You sign up for the World Cup as it's going to be. It's not our job to keep them occupied."

Maybe he should face up to the fact that it his is job to make sure the team turn up for each game in the best physical and mental state possible, which also includes managing their downtime.

Well, I bought my Panini World Cup sticker album yesterday. One of the best thing about being a grown-up is that I can afford as many packs of stickers as I want, rather than being limited by pocket money.

I'm sure they will have plenty of day trips / events and all their electronic toys, much to do about nothing that article!

Now what's your 23 man squad & starting 11?

Not a big footy fan but interested to see how a world cup is when the country I'm living in doesn't have a team in it.

Interesting in the papers that some of the Man Utd players who would have been shoe-ins 9 months ago at the start of the season are so damaged by their performances (for which I blame them and not Moyes, BTW, they were by all accounts rubbish again yesterday), that they are far from obvious candidates now.

And Ross Barkley - surely has to go, but how close is he to being in the eleven, or if not that, the genuine sub's (as opposed to those going to provide cover in case of injury or suspension)

I bet there will be more gun fighting news coming or people being kidnapped or ransom etc, unlike in the 70s nowadays now they have guns. 😆

I must say, i didn't know what i thought when i read the "its not our job to keep them occupied". My first thought was, yes it is. But in the context of a few players saying they were bored at the last world cup i think Roy is saying that the players are adults (or big boys at least). They know there will be time where there's no training,no games, no swimming off ipanema SO be prepared to sort yourself out.
.
My tip....england scrape through the group, then get knocked out

i am looking forward to it though. I think ill be very tired.

Rooney shouldn't go and shouldn't play for England again. His foul mouthed tirade at the fans in South Africa should have seen to that.

Oh, and he's rubbish.

Can't wait, it's the biggest and best sporting event in the world and everything else pales in comparison.

AAAAARGH EXCITED!

Ooooooh.

Brand new Demo showing up, Ratboy will win, Rachel will be about 16 seconds up again, the XC red has been fixed and it's gonna be hot.

See you there.

Edit: Oh, the other world cup? Fools.

They were free in our local Tescos the other night included 6 stickers

Don't be dense, Rorschach.

It's a scientific fact that cats love football.

Although, in America, they call it soccer, and it's more of a dog sport.
