Hi
New boiler going in, but unsure which one to use.
Does anyone have experience of either I.e. reliability and after care?
Had a Worcester fitted a couple of years ago, serviced twice now by the same guy who installed it, no issues or any sign of any. Really well made has a quality feel to it. The plumber only fits Worcesters, says they rarely go wrong and they typically aren't much more expensive than a budget line, given that quite a bit of the cost is in the install
Ideal here, 4years in and no problems so far.
Worcester - good boilers, cheap to repair if it's the usual stuff - diverter valve, flow unit etc.
Ideal - also good, have their own bits that go wrong - diverter valve & water flow cartridge.
Not much to choose between them to be honest, DHW flow rates are the same. If the quotes are coming out at the same sort of price go for the Worcester.
I'd go Worcester or Vaillant. A British Gas Home care engineer advised me to go with Vaillant, but that may be because he was told to say that.
Our Worcester is 17 years old...
Thanks for the answers, looked at Ideals but reviews on aftercare was a bit scary. That’s the main part that’s putting me off them.
We use Worcester in all our lodges across our villages, 4000+ lodges and talking to tech services lads they have v little issue and are generally replaced as part of refurbs every 7 years

Centre Parcs?
Wouldn’t touch Ideal boilers
Worcester or Gloworm
Ideal have a habit of building boilers to cost/spec and then failing to support them - like the 2000+ ones here that are so bad that even BG don’t have enough techs to keep up with demand in repairs/replacements!
