Really? How short of stories or editorial ability is the bbc? I made a lens from air as a child. I’ve got the same effect as the ice lens using silicon grease on a lens.

But you did not make an actual lens, that could be used to take a photo that, while soft and a bit blurry, is in focus and the subject easily identifiable.
That whooshing sound? That’s the point going right over your head, that is.
