I have my suspicions that they've picked some easy to split straight grained logs for the promo vid.

I wish I could have a wood burner then I too could have an axe. MrsS just doesn't see the attraction.

Almost no visible grain in that wood, like to see how he'd get on with some hedgerow Oak or Hornbeam.

Useful, if you can access that type of timber- whadya reckon straight grained Birch maybe?

Can't watch the video - neighbours in so Internet hamster exhausted - but what a shallow article! And I don't see the issue with chopping wood. One of the best jobs of all, in my book.
