As long as we get someone who can bring a level of professionalism to the role, an ability to deal with the blazers in D4 and doesn't have a provincial bias then I'll be happy. If I had my choice Jake White would be good.

On another note; why are Irish players getting tax breaks for chasing an egg when the "Celtic Tiger" economy has been skinned and hung on a wall? Curious about what the status they have is,but too lazy to google it.

Ducky this explains it better than I can

Not sure where Ulster players fit into this though,

Thats a good article, some bugger with space hopper sized balls has obviously gone to the Government and explained to them why they should allow this, 40% tax on a 400k euro salary x 9 is a nice wee nest egg,no wonder they all stay home.

Unless I'm mistaken, you haven't beaten them yet. Unless I've missed something (again).

Enjoyed the Glaws game, thought Yachvilli was outstanding.

I suppose I deserved that! Very disappointed with the performance, we were simply not accurate enough to beat a defence like Sarries. The scoreline flattered them a little as the first score should never have come from the line out which was an Ulster throw. The best team won however.

The only positive was the return of Tommy Bowe who looked sharp considering he's been out 4 months. Off to find a wolf hunter!

My ex landlord (top bloke) was at the game as an Ulster fan-took a hammering did they? Trots off to Facebook to start the abuse 🙂

Meh just checked the score, I was presuming worse-Ulsters form has really gone to shit in the last couple of months!

Didn't see that Munster performance coming? Even as a Munster fan. Clermont away in semis looks like a bridge too far though. Some seriously poor performances by Quins England players in front of Lions coach.

Gutted, one of my very favourite players. One a the few decent players at Sale this year, he is inconsistent though. Maybe standing in a straight line, then running in a straight line will suit him better? Shoe in for the Welsh RL team I'd guess!

Hmm doesn't seem like it's a done deal. Wigan denying knowledge and a month back Mongo was saying that he wanted a new Sale contract.

Sunday, 2 games of Heineken rugby to watch after the Paris-Roubaix! Wooohoooo!

Checks teams - Munster, Quins, Leicester, Toulon. 4 teams I actively dislike. (Not sure why, but I'm being honest. And I really can't stand Munster. :()

So a very conflicted Welshman ended supporting Quins and Leicester but being vaguely pleased when Toulon won. And sulked about Munster.

Why is rugby so confusing?

Don't know why you think it is so bad. Gives youth a chance to come through and play with the big beasts gone. That increases the strength in depth. Yes they wont be released to play in the Autmn internationals but meh they don't really mean anything.

As AW Jones said yesterday you learn not only through the experience of playing but also through playing and training alongside experienced pro's. He got to see and play with the likes of Marshal or Collins etc. None of the welsh regions will be competitive in europe and the game is dying on its arse in Wales, no one wants to go to games to see youth being "developed" by having the shit kicked out of them on a weekly basis. The WRU are killing the game, pro rugby in wales will be dead in five years if nothing changes.

I am glad you put the blame on the WRU because I blame them as well. Don't share your sense of pessimism though.

Only bloody Glaws could make Stockport look good :-}

No fight or intensity apparently and Shedwed are not happy. Hoped it would never come to this but thought Glaws could well loose 3 or 4 out of their last four and drop out of the top six, to the carrot crunchers of all people. Need some results to go our way tomorrow.

Sale fans singing "always look on the bright side of life" in the background 🙂

daft thing is, if we had played like that from the off we would have been a top six team at the end of the season. Glos never spent one single second in the Sale 22 in the second half.

Well, if things continue to go our way at least we will be able to say we stayed up on our own merits.

Next season in a pub Scamper? ( we don't don't play in Stockport any more)

Yer, I know where you play - still funny though (to me anyway) 😀

On reflection could have a top 6 with a loosing bonus point or two. Barth have to play the top 3, and Pests and Carrot Crunchers will take points out of each other, with the former also away to Tigers. Just hope it does not come down to Exeter v Glaws as a top 6 shoot out on the final day as i think i'm going down to that one.

Looking forward to the Tigers v Wasps game on Sunday, seems like forever since there was a home game at Welford road.

No change in squad after Toulon game, just Ayerza out after breaking his collar bone

Care was awful at times in the six nations but he us very talented.

not sure what to make of this. At best its very, very reckless at worst a very long time on the naughty srep.

A_a is correct, he was terrible during the 6n. Weirdly I was reflecting that he'd not had a poor game for England beforehand......... 😳
As for the video, I can't imagine any defence for that. The reverse angle is pretty condemning.

I think his foot got the ball his shin got the head, the blue 14 was milking the collision he caused.
He collected John Thomas once which was cynical this was just clumsy IMO

Even if just clumsy he should recieve a ban imo. People get banned for mistiming tackles this is no different imo. What the winger was doing or not doing entirely irrelavant to what POC did. It was reckless use of the boot.

The black player has him in a headlock, the green guy's fingers are always in sight, more to the point, why were two forwards watching the black player manhandle their team-mate?

green players fingers were always in sight true, but seem to be in Ian Evans eyes for at least part of the time. Apart from the head lock we cant really see what Evans is doing with his other hand which looks to be near the eyes of the green player.

The kick to the head is disgraceful IMO. The bloke is presenting the ball with both hands stretched, so is completely prone.

From Irish Times:

O’Connell made contact with Kearney’s head while kicking the ball during the second half of the match in Limerick, but after reviewing video footage of the incident the citing commissioner, Eddie Walsh, decided the second row does not have a case to answer.

It was felt that although O’Connell’s shin came into contact with Kearney’s head, the player was making a genuine attempt to get the ball and there was no deliberate intent to kick the Leinster winger.

I agree it wasn't deliberate but I did think he might have been cited for dangerous play

It was reckless and dangerous IMO and he should have been cited. He didnt kick him in the head intentionally but that defence doesnt wash with tackles that go wrong. Given his previous he would have been in hot water at the citing (unless he bought some delux choccy biscuits to share and didnt eat any himself).
