Hola everyone, I've recently started backing up to Google Drive but was already backing up to Dropbox (I am probably going to migrate to Google Drive in time, after switching to Android) but during the GD backup process it seems that Dropbox (maybe) has been creating some duplicate file, eg. *(1).JPG and the original *.JPG is already there. In some cases it's *(2).JPG for whatever reason but upshot is that I seem to have got a fair few dupes now. Goodness knows why, hopefully after the initial backup this won't repeat.
Question is: is there a free piece of software that anyone has experience of, that will let me find files that have these similar filenames with (presumably) precisely the same filesize down to the byte to ensure I am truly deleting dupes? Obviously I've done a search but installing one or two seems they want me to upgrade to a paid version.
Thanks in advance as always, cheers!
clonespy? - can't promise that it's 100% failsafe but has worked for me in the past and should be easier for pics, as the files I was sorting were differently dated documents
Thanks scaredypants - will give that a whirl, it looks sufficiently basic for what I need!
