Switched my pc on yesterday morning, downloaded a tune from whytunes and sync'd the whypod. Disconnected device and switched the pc off...came off from work and it was still showing 'shutting down' message. Last night it was incredibly sluggish and my email and web browsers didn't work.
Today it powers up and virtually nothing runs...the mouse moves across the screen but nothing else is happening. I can't open anything and I've no idea how to boot into safe mode to see if I can determine what is causing the issue.
So any experts in the room that can recommend what I can do? Getting rid of machine.
/windows 8 is not an option.
Running mcafee through BT, from what I can tell all the windows updates are in place and about a week ago I ran the up update software which also reported everything was up to date.
From what I can tell, mcafee is wanting to install and update but before the machine stopped doing anything it was sitting at 0% installed of this update for almost an hour...no disc activity that I can tell.
