When ever I try to install the Garmin communicator plug in on my new laptop, and then try to run it so I can up/ download to/ from my 800 I get a message where it says open chrome on the desktop and try again, but to no avail.
Any pointers / idiots guides to making it work please
you could always download the file and manually put it on your Garmin if it's a big problem
Garmin are having problems with their plug ins and web apps at the moment .
I can't access either Garmin Connect or Express at the moment.
iMac running Mavericks.
The help desk told me they are working on it but have no estimated resolution date.
Do you just drop the tcx or gpx file into the routes folder?
I'm ok with the manual upload just not the other way round
The thing is I've created a ride out to Holme Firth for the TdF and on connect you can just loop it back, don't seem to be able to do that on any other site, and I can't export from Garmin connect
Yea, if you look through the folders you'll find one with all your .tcx and i think maaybe the .gpx files are in another (or the same). Just drop em in and Garmin will see them when you reboot.
Stroke of genius, you can export routes from Garmin Connect via a proxy link.
If you go to the course details page, you should see a url similar to this...
http://connect.garmin.com/course/1016524
Take the number at the end (1016524 in this case) and plug it into one of these, and you can download a file for the course directly.
http://connect.garmin.com/proxy/cour...course/1016524 (json)
http://connect.garmin.com/proxy/cour...course/1016524 (fit)
http://connect.garmin.com/proxy/cour...course/1016524 (tcx)
http://connect.garmin.com/proxy/cour...course/1016524 (gpx)
http://connect.garmin.com/proxy/cour...course/1016524 (gpolyline)
Pick the course id numbers from the route on Garmin, copy the corresponding link above, paste it into your browser, replace the numbers with yours and hey presto your route is available for download
