Just installed that on a laptop. Better than 8 anyway but its lost my Internet Explorer. How the hell do I get that back? That's where my favourites are.
There is Chrome sitting there but that doesn't open to a good old fashioned Google type page.
Chrome is set as default browser.
Lost Thunderbird as well and that is really needed. as there are millions of club emails there that I have to keep.
Ideas?

start > all apps > internet explorer.
Just download thunderbird.
Did you save your faves as a HTML file? if not then you're screwed.

Saved. No. It didn't tell me to. Not a lot there but its rather annoying when these things are not mentioned. I didn't ask it to delete anything.
Oh yeah and the start-all app- thingy didn't do it, I had tried that before asking.
Ta for trying.
Download Thunderbird? Fair enough but how do I get back to my emails? is it obvious?
I didn't realise what a ball ache this would be.

Windows 10 replaces IE with Edge doesn't it? Have you tried looking there for your Favourites?

That abortion!
Anyway, what do you know?
Gave up and switched the bloody thing off to teach it a lesson, the switched it back on. That's 4 times now since W10 installed and its now showing my old W7 desktop, back ground, icons and all. And they work.
🙄

Thanks for the suggestions

Edge is ok but miss the accelerators of I.E.

Think they are coming soon.

Just type the name of the app and Cortana/search will usually find it.

Also you can pin I.E. to your desktop/start menu or on the tiles.

your old windows files are kept on a separate bit of the disc aren't they ?

if you knew what favourites file you were looking for you could probably go in & retrieve it

Try a file search by content. Search for an address or a name you remember in the favorite's list.

Open the file in notepad, or perhaps you can add the file in IE?

If the drive has not yet been indexed it may take a while.

(Advice for posterity)
