Just ordered an Aeropress - with Tote zip bag no less - on Amazon Prime for £25, which will allegedly be delivered between 8-10pm tonight.

Really?

You just reminded me, I forgot I was to order an Aeropross, cheers.

Same day, crumbs. Did you pay extra for this supposed miraculous service?

EDIT: Erm no, it won't happen.

If I don't know what you've ordered without Googling do you really need one? And how does whatever it is sit with your new stuff-free lifestyle?

If your thread title had been in any way related to the topic I wouldn't have clicked BTW. But now I'm here... .

If a mod sees this could the title be changed to:

"Tat from Amazon, delivery time respected?"

No - used the MIL's Prime account, free delivery if ordered before 11am.

We shall see.

Yes. I broke my current coffee maker yesterday. This is a need rather than want situation. I'm not going without coffee.

I expect so. Some self employed 'entrepreneur' will be flogging themselves to death for less than the minimum wage an employee would have to be paid to make it so.

Enjoy your coffee 🙂

If you need or want it that's your business.

Regarding Amazon Prime delivery schedules, they have never let me down. Always managed to achieve what they promised, never seen a same day schedule mind. I believe it depends on how close you are to their principal warehouses.

Hopefully Apple hurry up and build a flying car, then we'll know for sure.

Some things only exist to please the uber consumer, and yes, some should be banned. Hard/impossible to recycle packaging and any vehicles capable of exceeding the speed limit shouldn't exist when recycleable materials exist and cars could be fitted with GPS devices that limit the speed to the legal limit.

I enjoyed this analysis of Uber 🙂

https://boingboing.net/2017/03/14/move-fast-break-things.html

Uber is something like a Ponzi scheme in which investor billions and drivers' bad calculations about wear-and-tear on their vehicles are used to subsidize fares at unsustainable rates. But while Uber is showering travelers with subsidies, they are also driving out their competitors: with the billions that Uber has raised from its investors, it is betting that it can stay irrational longer than its competitors can stay solvent.

Can be done. Ordered some grips for my kid's bike at approx 10pm Sunday, no rush, yet they were at my house Mon morning. Was amazed tbh.

Like the aeropress a lot - simple device for good coffee.

I ordered a birthday present for a friends kid in bed on a sunday morning (pre 9am - I have kids) and it arrived at about 7pm on Sunday night.

I was impressed, but I live within 5 miles of a distribution centre, YMMV.

My Aeropress has been perfect for letting my colleagues know I have superior taste to them.

I don't let them know I ordered it through Amazon though... how gauche.

Your colleagues think it is a pump style penis enlargement device and they always had their suspicions 🙂

Before Christmas I ordered a Kindle for my other half.
Order clicked at 20:15 on Wednesday.
Order delivered at 21:05 on Wednesday.

Delivered free, In Less than an Hour, outside normal working hours. Incredible.

I didn't need it that fast, it was two weeks before Christmas 😆

Yes. It's Ridiculous really.

But I did order some milk and bread at the same time, to make it seem more urgent 🙂

Be interesting to see but they've never failed next day with me and Next always seem to meet there next day if ordered before 9.

I'm seriosuly impressed by my aeropress.

I see Edukator is back on form.

That's impressive.

I once ordered a CD late at night after rolling home after a few beers, maybe 1am. It was waiting for me when I got up the next morning (took me a minute to work out where it'd come from, mind...!)
