anyone on here, who can give me some sound advice of where to get a 'not too costly' will sorted for my old mum?

Just go to a local solicitor, get a quote first. Straightforward will should be no more than an hours work all in.

Free services via charities, in exchange for a donation:

Local lawyer. Having done mirror wills to take care of stuff including childcare and all sorts else for just a few hundred quid I really don't understand why anyone would not get a lawyer to do it even on a low value estate.

No I am not a lawyer just the idea that someone might have to clear stuff up after my death without the benefit of a properly prepared will really bothers me.
