Always thought it was an amazing image, seems it was too good to be true.

I never really cared for it as an image in terms of lighting and composition, it was the subject and quality that made it. I'd be extremely pleased if I took it but there are much better pictures out there IMHO.

Wasn't the best image anyway.

I still think it's a beautiful shot and shows considerable skill.

But it does lose quite a bit of integrity if it was essentially a trained dog that was hired to repeatedly jump over the fence till he got the shot he wanted.

Always thought it was a bit cack. 4 gallons of wine says I can't be any more constructive than that. For some reason it reminds me of those inspirational/positive thought pictures that are so easy to take the piss out of.

It's good, no doubt, but, i was expecting something a little less 'crufts'.

It's funny really. It's exactly the same image, but when the story was that it was a one-off chance encounter with a lone wild wolf, it was far more compelling.

Now I look at it and see a nice picture of a dog.

Still WPOtY is still excellent. I buy the book every year and the some of the images in there just take my breath away.

When it says it's an animal model, does it mean a dead stuffed wolf on a stick, or a kind of canine Kate Moss?

That Puffin isn't really flying, just pissed up and laying flat on its back, probably slipped on the snow.
Has happened to me, so not that unbelievable

Since I first saw that Wolf shot in AP it has always reminded me of a show jumper. If it was narrated no doubt some one would be saying in a poncy voice "he's gawn clear"
