We have various WiFi signals in our house, a fast and a slow one direct from the router, one in the office on the end of a very long Cat 6 cable and now one in the outdoor kitchen using the mains cabling and dlan.

When I move around between the various signals I have to manually move the device off the old signal and on to the new one or, in the case of the phone it defaults to 4g and the laptop won’t work.

I don’t believe this used to happen and the device would automatically tune into the new stronger signal. Am I going mad or do I need to change my settings or accept this is a first world problem.

Thanks

Unlikely that the devices ever did a proper hand off to eachother if they aren't the same system either like a mesh or ubiquiti.

I'm not sure there's much you can do, though some devices are better that others at swapping to stronger signals.
