variable output throttle

1. It's a motorbike, not an e-bike.

2. The motor and wiring harness are going to catch a lot of mud and grit if you ride off-road. They don't seem to have made any effort to seal it.

3. The sprocket will also catch a lot of mud and grit. You can't lube it without also lubing your brakes. If you ride in winter, you're going to need to replace the sprocket every ride.

Same sort of idea as the Skarper thing Christmas Hoy was promoting some time back? Blimey it's £1500!

I think it's a great idea. Sure maybe it needs some tweaking.

I saw an article somewhere else, can't remember where (MTBR?) where he was responding in the comments and addressing some of the concerns/questions raised, eg, they are soon bringing out a sensor to make it work with pedal assistance instead of throttle.

Also about other uses for it - it's not all about mtb. Fixing it to a wheeled stretcher to motorise it for mountain rescue? Apparently it's been really useful.

I assumed that the motor would work directly upon the disc rotor.

would be a great way to keep the rotor true😂😂😂

I’ve got a makita electric wheel barrow and it’s awesome- motor is inside the wheel and there’s also a disk brake to control it when you come back down the mountain sides it’s dragged you up

Ah I watched that vid last night too. Maybe not ideal for those in the UK I imagine mud would be a killer. But me in dusty Aus? Might work. Except it's 2 grand usd so.... 3k + postage. That's almost an e-bike.
