they did the full film series in order last year. it'll be on saturday afternoon sometime soon again

Aye,they had the whole thing on one after the other over the course of a couple of weeks.
Obviously you've been out cycling when you should have been home slummming it in front of the television 😆
I would guess that the rights to it are so expensive that they only show it on special occasions, such as Christmas and other holiday periods.
I think ITV wore out the tape in the '80s
Any smart TV scheduler would put it on for the first spring bank holiday...
I think last year was the first time they had all 6 to broadcast - not sure but they might have been in HD too?
...because there are better things to watch on the tv? I like them, but they are the kind of films that I can happily not watch for several years. I'll then take a fancy to watching them, then I'm good for several more years...
