They just do. You'd be better off spending your time trying to fathom the creation of the universe than work out why this is so

Like the universe.... it just is

And Sunday roasts

I don't think my mum has ever cooked me a bacon and egg sandwich - I don't remember her bacon sandwiches being anything special

and my roasts are about 1 million times better than hers.

I love my mum - but she's a fairly rubbish cook

I can always remember my Mum making a wonderful Toad in the Hole.

All of the Ho hum family were down at my Mum's a couple of weeks ago and she said that she was going to make Toad in the Hole.

Wonderful, I thought and I also told my son it was worth waiting for.

However, she has now become a QVC addict and cooked the meal in her new halogen oven (apparently it saves 66% of the energy required to make the same dish in a normal oven) and it was pants 🙁

Luckily my mum has stuck to pretty traditional way's of cooking, plus the old man's in the top 3 of the villages best gardeners, so food at the parents is top notch! Sunday dinners are fantastic, although the speed to taste ratio of the bacon and egg butty is still hard to beat. (eggs from the allotment next door to the old mans, something he reminds me of all the time).

My mums sunday roasts were amazing and I've never had anything ever like them after all these years! Her grazy was so so good you could almost bottle it.

My mum appears to shallow boil bacon and serve them with eggs that are burnt on the bottom and raw on the top in economy white bread

Bloody awful

my mum never could, and still cannot cook.

on any occasion that we go to her house for food, we either cook it ourselves or we have a buffet type meal.

My Mum died in 2001 & I've never yet tasted a better, A) Sunday dinner. B) Corned beef, potato & onion pie. C) Any other pie, meat or otherwise. D)Any kind of jam. (speshly strawberry)
2 mates were at my house & Knoxy was eating a strawberry jam sarnie & making 'yummy' kinda noises. Steve says 'there's no need for that Knoxy, jam's jam' & Knoxy says, 'It's not that simple Steve'.
Summed it up in one.
