Walking back from a very pleasurable couple of pints in the village pub, the door of the chippy was open.
Even though I knew dinner was already in the oven, even though I really didn't need it.....
The lure of a battered sausage was just too much!

I find it very hard to say "battered sausage" without at least a bit of a smirk
So you have a chip shop in front of you & you go for a sausage. I find this odd.
a couple of greasy scallops is my tide-me-over chip shop snack of choice!
