Definitely the Captain.
And yes, he's the genuine article imo - it's all far too effortless for it to be otherwise.
Although there is the contradiction. He hasn't really created an interesting persona - he's just being himself, imo.
I suspect however, that it an exaggerated caricature of himself. In fact I'm convinced.
