Suddenly significantly warmer than earlier in day and only 3 hours of light left. Just like a warm blast of air from oven.

Couldn't face going for a ride in that heat this afternoon, not sure I will be up for one after dinner either, trying to sleep tonight is going to be fun. :/

Probably be 30+ in the lab today, but I don't mind, looking forward to a ride in bowland this evening 😎

What lab are you in Richard?
My wife's in the lab in LEC today. She wasn't looking forward to it.

Popped out to top up the car tyres.  Dashboard showed 33.5 (N London), tyres were over recommended pressure before I arrived...

Apparently hit 30*c at Bike Park Wales - less than perfect for sitting in a wheeled greenhouse uphill...
Lovely for riding downhill in though...

It’s only 24c here in Edinburgh. Which would be a lovely temperature, if I wasn’t sitting under a glass roof. I dread to think how warm it is in here, but it must be 30plus. The only saving grace is the glass is opaque.

32.5'C in East Lancashire just now (6:30pm), if the car is to be believed. I've just been to the supermarket, getting out of the car it felt like Florida.

Still sat outside in shorts and T-shirt. Nice glass of Malbec and a few candles burning. Watching the bats flitting about and seen the local barn owl floating over too. It’s bloody lovely.

Thankfully the air con unit I bought last year rendered the bedroom a pleasant 17deg last night but getting up this morning and walking onto the landing was like that moment when you get off a plane somewhere hot...

Working on a roof all day again today though. Joy!

Too hot to sleep, then finally dropped off only to be woken by a raging storm, following the raging storm it was once again too got to sleep.

I'm heading North today, please ensure you keep it grim and the temperature down at a normal level for me 😉

It got up to 36.7° on my balcony yesterday in The Hague, we are promised increasing warm weather in the next 2 days.

:-0

9am it was *only* 25°. I might put a jumper on.

You mean at Blackpool Vic? I'm in path lab, bacteriology. Was"only" 28 degrees in the end yesterday. Supposed to be hotter tomorrow! 👍 But I'm off to grizedake on the bike so I ain't fussed.

I might have a bit of a grumble about being hot at work, but I would never moan to much, never ungrateful for nice weather 😎

It was a bad night. We drove 260 miles to a family event in mid Wales, adding an extra 30 minutes of driving on the way down because Mrs Gti thought she knew the route and missed the satnav instruction to turn left at Welshpool, meaning we carried on to Newtown before I stopped the car to check.....

Home by 11.30 pm, too hot to sleep, disturbed by cat miaowing to be let in, then the blinds blowing in the breeze, then the storm, then the other cat.... dunno how I'm going to get through the day here at work.

I installed a ceiling fan in my son's south-west facing bedroom last year and it has been a great addition. Repeated it for our room a few weeks ago, reaping the benefit now. Virtually silent and moves a lot of air. Lovely and toasty warm for my 12 mile run home yesterday, even warmer today - bring it on 🌞🌞🌞

38 in the Vosges, just as well I stacked it yesterday and can't play on the steep stuff until I've stopped leaking fluids.

Bought an aircon unit for the living room yesterday, I seem to be useless in this heat this year. Duct out the window thing, Mostly sash windows here so very easy to set up and seal. Very effective too. I'd forgotten about ceiling fans, might look into one for the bedroom.

If you're considering a ceiling fan, I can recommend these guys. We have 2 Sigma units. When the 2nd one produced a slight hum when I first turned it on, they were great about dispatching a new unit to swap over, no questions asked.

Discovered makita make a cordless fan that'll take my batteries so it's now hanging in the window blowing ever so slightly colder air right at my head.

Turboferret - I have two of your white four cell 18650 battery holders wired up in parallel 14.4V of raw power to a car fan next to my bed. Viva la DIY. It goes all night.

Tried going for a run at 5.30am today to try and avoid the heat. It was already too hot then.
I spent 7am to 6.30pm in the air conditioned office refusing to go outside. It was lovely. I'm doing the same again today.
I don't like the heat!

wow, it's really cooking out there now, just walked to the local Coop to buy a sandwich and it was practically cooked by the time I got back. Luckily, so far the office aircon is holding up ok...

I'm a fan of the heat - its scorchio in East Anglia today - about 34 degrees outside - not set to peak for another couple of hours ....

Glad to be working from my office in the cellar - currently about 22 degrees with only natural cooling.

A floor up and it is like being hit with that wave of air opening the oven .......

We don't get nice weather very often so I'm embracing it. Rice home after work to pick up the nipper from nursery and we shall do mini-milks in the garden 😎

Just rode Skipton to Settle. Soft-pedalling all the climbs, but a welcome breeze on the tops.

A lot of very pissed-off people around town today!

I'm about to feel particulary smug when we all exit the office and get into our cars.

I parked mine where I knew it'd end up in the shade, with the windows open  and have a full set of custom fitted window sun shades.

It'll still be hot inside but not nuclear like everyone elses will be.

28C in the house feels like a fridge compared to outside. Mind you that's downstairs, upstairs is probably closer to 40C...

I’m sat in the pub rehydrating myself. I had to go into town ,so decided to spin back along the canal and kept going . 4 hours & 8 water bottles and a coke later I have prickly heat on my calves for the first time in my puff.
Could be a 3 Pinter!

Was up to 36ish C the last few days, between Zurich and Lake Konstance. I don’t understand how people can ‘sunbathe’ in that weather. Now we’re camping for a few days in the north-western foothills of the Austrian Alps and it’s a more comfortable 30ish. Stormy weather is supposed to be rolling in on Friday afternoon so hopefully the temperature will drop a few degrees.

Well I can't see today being very productive. Last night was sweltering, hottest place in the UK, in a terraced house with a black slate roof, basically the house was a sauna last night even with an industrial gym fan blowing 40 knots along the upstairs landing.....

I checked, and my south facing upstairs office was still 31 degC at midnight last night, having peaked at just over 38 at about 4pm!

Today, it's 10 degC cooler and actually feels a bit chilly, might go put a jumper on.....
