Who you could happily sit and listen to all day

Its just got to be Iggy Pop, surely? Have a listen to this on Sunday. He sounds like you'd expect someone who's lived the life he has to sound. This is a good thing! 😀

Your nominations please.....

Clarke Peters

His book readings on the radio are brilliant.

or Michael Jayston

his reading of Rogue Male was equally spellbinding.

There was a guy on Radio Leeds the other night; one of the first Red Arrows pilots. He was in his eighties.

I could have listened to him chatter on in his eloquent, aged and humorously eccentric tones for hours.

Proper gentleman, just how you'd want an 80 year old ex RAF pilot to sound.

Shireen Liane from the Slingbacks. Best vowels ever

I suppose it's possible Tom Waits had the best voice in the world, at some point, before his throat went on fire and he beat the flames out with a cricket stump.

I think David McAlmont is massively underrated... perhaps because half the people who hear him don't realise he's a bloke....

Eva Cassidy had a stunning voice; it was said that she sang like a black woman yet she was completely untrained.

Sara Montague on the Today programme has a nice voice and the sexiest laugh ever.

@gofasterstripes Jeff Buckley and Father Ted? Strange mix, but I sort of see it...

I really like this (it's minus music, so silence for the first few seconds of video):

John Martyn, yes!

Actually it was another Martin, Martin Jarvis above.

Clearly this is for singing and speaking, separately.

Woman singer. Might be Laura Marling.
