These Endura E-vent 3/4 shorts are rubbish and I've got wet legs.

Grateful for a bit of breeze to dry them off!

I've decided it's a good day to take some extra shirts and trousers etc in, which I obviously can't manage in my huge commuting bag 😯 so it'll be the car today.

I may wear 2 waterproof jackets. The one that works and over that, the one that doesn't make me look like an over stuffed sausage.

It looks a bit fresh... I have 20 minutes to convince myself that I can be bothered.

edit: three punctures last night may also be putting a dampener on enthusiasm.

Wimped out and drove. Not too bad here in the East Midlands, but forecast to be worse later, and it only takes one big gust to blow you into a driver who isn't concentrating

Was looking forward to it, but got a stinking horrible cold and asthma playing up, so it'll be the car today if I decide to go in or not.

I'm Dahn Sarf so just outside the Yellow zone of doom as reported on the Weather last night...

It was slightly windier than normal, and I got a bit wet but TBH, the ride in was not very bad at all...

20 - 25 mph Tail winds home later apparently, Yay!

Myself and my OH both wimped out. I drove in and he is planning to run. He needs the car this evening so plans to run to my office and pick it up - depending on what it looks like I'll either sit in the car and read while he does his jobs or run home.

Barely needed to pedal all the way to work. Beautiful man, beautiful.

I might just have to move house before heading home to I don't have to fight it on the way back.

I bottled as the ride home is in the dark on small lanes. Going out on the MTB later instead.

Not too bad at all heading in - going home might be a battle though. Think I'll skip the shopping, MsD can do it on her way home. Not risking a 50mph dual carriageway at rush hr in 50+mph winds.

i didnt - wish i had .

drove in and miss judged a pot hole at 10mph.... just about took my teeth out on the steering wheel. surprised the strutt top isnt through the bonnet and the airbag out it was that violent.

all my dashboard lights came on too....

im not sure it was a pot hole at all .... it was possibly a direct line to china.

I thought about doing so but last time I did during similar weather a gust caught my front wheel and I almost got pulled under a bus.

Not worth it. Although I hate listening to students yapping on their phones on the bus so its a close call.

I did and it was OK, not as windy as I expected and very mild, I was too warm with just a summer jersey, light base layer and waterproof on. This was in Birmingham by the way. The ride home looks to have 5 degrees lower temperature and closer to a headwind so that may be more of a challenge.

No, I got the train. Lot of debris on the roads, saw a couple of cars slide on roads slick with wet leaves.

On the South Coast, looked out the window, looked alright, I'll chance it without waterproofs (only takes me 15mins). I'm at work now wearing someone else's spare trousers, jumper no shirt and no shoes. Looked like I'd stood in the shower, was only in it for 2mins.

Bright sunshine now, not a breath of wind. 🙄

These are indeed rubbish. Only had mine for a few rides and my arse and legs are wet through! Now im sitting commando in the office without socks.

Tipping down here in Northampton.

Well in the market for some decent water proofs....any suggestions? weight not a major issue as I only commute 4 miles.

Tuesday is normally my 'must ride' day, but had to sit in the damn queues in the car this morning.
Not the weather, but shit at work and a child to visit on the way home.

No rain in Edinburgh despite the biblical forecast. Dry and bright morning with a brutal head wind all the way. Singlespeed sucks, nearly threw my breakfast up grunting into the headwind for so long.

My rule of thumb is if I can hear it through the double glazing, I'll drive instead.

Mmmmmmmm, sweet sweet heating on my nether regions..

If it were only 4 miles I'd just get some Peter Storm walking ones from Millets and either cut them down or clip them to my legs. I've got about 15/16 miles so lycra under baggies is the only option to be practical and avoid scaring the horses.

Wasn't going to but car breaks decided to stop working (narrowly missed rear ending someone, ffnnar!) yesterday.

Only 15 miles but damn that head wind. Almost lost it on a corner thanks to a mixture of oil on road, going a tad too fast and a gust of wind. Puncture about half way which took me 25 mins to sort.

Still better than driving though.

I used to commute around 4 miles to work. Got on great with cheap-o Altura night vision waterproofs. Boil in the bag stuff for long riders but very robust and totally waterproof. Used to just wear my work clothes underneath and always turned up dry.

rain hammering on the windows all morning, but figured I'd better gird my loins, mtfu etc, stealth pants, warm windproof top overshoes the lot, but it turned out to be not bad at all, monster tailwind all the way into work, tried raining halfway in but was just a brief shower.

PR tastic!

first 1/3 bone dry, then the heavens opened and my Altura jacket is no longer waterproof! Sat at my desk in my gym kit....

I drove as I needed a quiet place for a telephone interview at 12.

What normally takes 20 mins by bike took me over 40 in the car in stop-start traffic, I HATE driving to work, even the wind and rain would have been more enjoyable!

Its was a bit windy this morning in Birmingham but the canal commute can be a bit more sheltered than on the roads, had to stop under a bridge to shelter during one heavy shower.

Nice and sunny at the moment.

Tacked all the way to work in me new army surplus goretex pants waiting for the flipin rain, it never came looking like a bit of beating on the way home.

I'm looking forward to the 30mph tailwind on my way home, maybe not the forcasted 60 mph gusts, at least I'm a fat lad, should keep me on the bike!!

Yup, on the south coast here, just a bit more blustery than normal.

No records being set here, it was pretty much blowing in all directions.

Head to toe in waterproofs as usual!

After a 52 mile Sportive on Sunday and 22 miles last night I didn't fancy 22 miles into a headwind so I got the train instead. I had forgotten that London Midland are both useless and robbers. It will be back to the bike tomorrow.

Hold on, what is this tail wind you all mention?

It was a nasty head wind on the way in and I'm willing to bet it will be a nasty head wind on the way back.

took me about 8 minutes longer to get in this morning. riding into the wind is no fun...the wind seems to have died down now and the sun is out...not sure what it'll be like on the way home...but it will be interesting!!

Was fine for me this morning, bit swirly at times, but mostly seemed to be behind me. 5 minutes after I got to work it took a turn for the (much) worse, but looks to be fining up again now and forecast is ok for later 🙂

Rode in, dry and blustery, head wind all the way down Hope Street, here in Liverpool. Brought me to a standstill by the Cathedral.

I'm glad that it's scheduled to die down by tomorrow.. I'm not a fan of using the trailer in this sort of weather, always makes me a bit nervous

Considering it hasn't dropped below 40mph yet since 3am and it's showing peaks of 62mph - you decide...

Tell that to the two wheelie bins that went past the window earlier!
One of which is still embedded in the neighbours fence!

Given that work would have involved hanging off the side of a 100m tall building on the South coast, my morning commute involved putting my slippers on to walk downstairs to the kitchen....
