A few weeks ago we couldn't get any emails or log on to host to check our emails.
It has always been a problem on our Mac but this time the iPads and my Samsung phone were affected.
After several goes at logging in our account was locked. Apparently Apple devices sometimes want an old password not the current one.
Spoke to customer services and managed to get the apple devices back receiving. My Samsung won't accept any of the settings they have given me.
Yesterday I managed to set up a gmail account and have the emails forwarded to that just in case.
Today I couldn't pick up any emails from Siteground but they were coming through on a the gmail account. Now tonight all of today's emails have come through.
Are they fibbing regarding Apple ? It's strange that my Samsung is up the spout as well as my phone was always the one device guaranteed to send and receive.
Thought I'd check with you lot before I start shouting at them.
Well, as the Apple devices now seem to be communicating, whereas the Samsung/Android device isn't, it would suggest that any issues lie with Siteground, who I guess is a hosting service?
There can be issues with gmail and iOS devices, and sometimes BT mail can be an arse and keep asking for login details, but then BT historically were bloody difficult to deal with regarding email; I had issues for ages, spent hours on the phone trying to figure out why the link kept dropping out, eventually during one marathon chat with their Mac team in Mumbai, while reading out my passcode as I tapped it in he stopped me and pointed out there should be a $ in front of the passcode! WTAF? This had never, ever been mentioned anywhere, but BT had decided that Mac users needed a different protocol but declined to tell anyone about it!
