Started watching this new series yesterday.
Anyone else watching it?
One of those you could easily watch all back to back in one go.
Well worth a watch...

We started watching it last night, seems quite easy watch. Coincides a bit with the early 90s rave seen which is nostalgic (for me!)

Enjoying it apart from some of the dodgy Manchester accents, in particular the main character who's accent seem to drift between Manc and Scouse mid-sentence

Liking the Ibiza locations but acting is a little like Eldorado. Boxer’s possibly the most likeable.

I was going to say exactly that. The accents are terrible. Comedy Ian Brown style manc one minute, Jamie Carragher the next.

It's watchable though, if you ignore that

Watched another last night and think I was out by a decade in my post above!

Just noticed my hideous spelling mistake as well.

My advice? Don't do it.

I binged it over the weekend with a catastrophic hangover and it did the job. Also seemed like an ITV drama with slightly better production values

I just can’t watch that bloke with the baggy face! He’s in that AI thing with Stephen Graham too and I like Graham, but I just have to avoid ol mushy chops.

Watched the first two the other night and really liked it. Does make me feel like I may have missed out on Ibiza though - those parties looked fun. ;O)

Utter dross, some good actors (not Fox) wasted on it.

Writing is laughable, story is nonsense.

A miss.

Maybe they're from Warrington

Hmmm...

Not sure what to make of it. Sort of enjoying it / sort of can’t be bothered to invest. I like the characters, except the main protaganists (the bro & sis).

But, having watched the first few episodes, it’s great to see the source inspiration of another popular TV character:

Well groomed beard - check
Swarthy piratic looks - check
Handy at shipbourne assaults - check
Ability to slot a couple of Ivans, unarmed, save for some designer sunglasses - check

Ant Middleton is clearly based entirely on Boxer and I claim my £5.

We watched two eps last night. Really enjoyed it. The accents aren't that bad.

I thought the hedonistic free for all c/w Charlie fuelled pumping and grinding of flesh and silicone was a bit OTT. Will continue to watch.

We're watching it in our house.

It's OK...

Kika though...

And how bloody MASSIVE are the cocaine smuggler's arms?

Eugh. Just remembered the priest getting tossed off inside his kex. No need.

Would have been okay if the sister had been murdered (because of her shit accent) and buried with her brother and saved us from the shite storyline then we could have just watched Spanish milfs and people who supposedly lived on Ibiza for 20years but who still cant mix/dj/throw shapes/have any idea of how the drug trade works.

Worth watching for Series3 Landrovers, Citroen Megari and Ibiza’s stunning backdrop but other than that Id rather spend the evening setting up cup and cone hubs.
****ing cringy pile of shit.

and Ibiza’s stunning backdrop

Most of it's filmed in Majorca and Madrid, not Ibiza.

FFS! Okay - watch it for the Spanish milfs/norks and a the guy with a face like something Noel Fielding would draw drive a Mehari without ever steering. These are the only highlights.

Its like they deliberately went out of their way to find a group of people that would look less likely to have been raving it up on Ibiza for the last 20years and hosting sexy time orgies.

And they cast that **** Laurence Fox as a spiritual guru!

I turned it off and watched Rupaul drag race instead for some more rounded tv.

It's utter rubbish, like Midsomer Murders / Death in Paradise in plot and acting! Dubious accents....that orgie scene was ridiculous. That said, i've watched it, soundtrack has good tunes, but it aint the best is it really!! Ibiza may have been like that (probably not thoug), but i went last year and it was shite!

I went out and stayed for a year nearly 30 years ago and it was ace. Never met any characters like that though.

I thought it was pretty funny. I don't think it's meant to be a serious crime drama

As soon as a character talks about "finding themselves" that's me out.

Have we hit peak STW sniffyness with this thread?

I think we might have, you know?

Good effort everyone 😃

Well i was considering it until you mentioned the crappy accents. As a northwesterner myself that would just do my head in too much.

Onto episode 4 and averaging 5 ‘that wouldn’t happens’ per episode.

The best acting so far was by the dog that died and he was the only one who’s accent was believable.

Still watching it.

Did anybody notice that Daniel Mays' index toe is longer than his big toe?

Apparently this a Celtic characteristic. Not the football team.

Specialist indeed. That's me in for a few more episodes. I thought it was fun. Even Laurence Fox channeling Frank Gallagher or possibly now I come to think of it, Albert Tatlock, didn't really spoil it.

I didn't notice, but my feet are like that and my family is of Oirish origin. Our kid calls me 'special toes' or 'hobbit feet' when I've got sandals on

It’s hard to take seriously, but it does seem to try so hard to be very serious so much of the time.

However, the scene where Dave (Larry Fox) ‘facilitates’ the family truthfulness session had me rolling on the floor. The scene where...

Spoiler
...the son admitted his Oedipus issues.

LF may be a t**t but he did make the best of that scene. Playing it with a knowing glint in his eye. If that wasn’t meant to be comedy, then I am on the wrong bus for this series.

It’s so so. But certainly no classic.

Mine too. Not sure what genetic advantage it gave me other than being good at football and not sinking in bogs.

Mine too. Semi-scot. Also get likened to a Hobbit when barefoot as I have massively wide feet (got enough space between each of my first three toes to fit another two in easily).

Anyway, White Lines. Zoe binged it so I have a 'background noise' view of it. Not sure how it knocked Afterlife off the top of the Netflix charts. Bog standard ITV style dross as far as I can tell.
