I know this is so STW, but placate me, I need to keep two mechanical watches moving & I just can't pleasure myself that much 😆

SO cheepo eBay job at £35 or do you have a better option?

Cheers.

Erm. Thumb and forefinger is traditional, is it not?

You mean those auto-winder things? One on each wrist?

One on each wrist?

Good shake should keep them wound up, yes.

So, I'd suggest Mayfair. Razzle if you blew the budget on the watches m

Each should have a reserve of 35+hrs so if that's not enough just enjoy resetting them and giving a few winds. Less wear and tear that way so service intervals ought to be longer. 2ps worth.

Cheepo ebay works for me. Had it for a few years, still going (every hour).

Isn't wear and tear reduced as everything is kept lubed if it keeps moving?
My dad bought me a barrington for my birthday. Seems to do the trick but no experience of others. Quiet, which is good if you're putting it in the bedroom.

Doesn't the butler do it for you?

Do you leave your car engine running all day?
Good practice is to wear an auto every few months at least as older lubes can solidify a little (graphite based) but much less of an issue with more modern lubes. If it ain't moving it ain't wearing.

When I got my seamaster, I asked about this.
The jeweller suggested I don't get a winder - something about the warmth of the body keeps the lubes thinner etc etc
Might be true.
However, I can also see the point that if it's not ticking, it's not wearing out etc etc..

I don't have as winder for this reason. plus, I wear the watch all time time (you know, "happy me time" etc etc*)

DrP

*Joke doesn't really work as the watch is on the left arm, right handed etc etc!
