I am looking for a digital SLR, but want it to be small enough to take out on rides. I have seen the Sony NEX-5 and it looks pretty good, does anyone have one?

Sony a33 and a55 aren't far off that price. Worth a look too.

I have been looking at this, and the more I do I end up at the Sony's.

Looked at bridge/superzooms, and while good, the really good ones are more than a DSLR.

The Sony's do all the basics well, if not with bells n whistles it seems.

I can pick up a new one at a good price or a slightly older one (A200) for great money.

They fit old lenses as well.

Olympus.
Or Pentax.
Or Sony.

Olympus are noted for being the smallest full dSLRs mind.

I had one of those (a200). If the price is right I doubt you'll regret it.

I almost bought an a300 - really liked it.. esp the fast continual autofocus in live view mode

2 different shops recommended the Sony a55 to me when I was looking last week.

And you can get the sony a550 for less than £400 quid now it's been replaced by the very similiar a55
